The MGM and Twentieth Century-Fox screenplays is a collection of 129 film scripts produced by the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Twentieth Century-Fox studios between 1931 and 1963. Nearly all are musicals, and many scripts are present in multiple drafts. Included in the collection are the screenplays for Daddy Long Legs, Kiss Me Kate and Singin’ in the Rain.

This collection contains the paper of Michael Spero, a Civil engineer, born in Newport, R.I.. Spero was a graduate of Rhode Island State College who was involved with the planning and construction of more than five hundred dams in the United States. He was also employed by the United Nations as Expert, Planning Engineer, and Advisor to the Government of Afghanistan Irrigation and Water Resources Development Authority, 1973-1975. The bulk of the materials in this collection relate to Spero's work in Afghanistan.
