Abstract:
Sarah Elizabeth Minchin Barker (also known as Sally Barker) was an actress and director whose career was highlighted by the work with The Players at the Talma Theatre and the Barker Playhouse Theatre. She was active in dramatic events at Pembroke, where she taught theatre. Her husband, Henry Ames Barker, 1861-1929 (Brown class of 1893) was a guiding influence and a director of the Players. He was the son of Mayor Harry Barker of Providence and active himself in the civic and cultural affairs of the city.

This collection contains the personal and professional papers of Lauren Berlant (1957 - 2021), The George M. Pullman Distinguished Service Professor in the Department of English Language and Literature at the University of Chicago. Their scholarship investigated the desires and emotions that compel people to create forms of life that support a sense of belonging, and the complex ways in which gender, race, citizenship, class, and sexuality affect and mold those attachments. Materials in this collection include correspondence, conference files, lecture and poetry drafts, handwritten research notes, and print materials, dating from 1922 – 2019 (bulk 1970 – 2019).

Boghosian is a New York City-based privacy advocate, attorney, author, and radio host specializing in civil liberties, surveillance, government overreach, and state repression. As an attorney, Boghosian has represented/advised a number of notable clients who identify as political prisoners including Mumia Abu-Jamal and Ross Ulbricht, creator of Silk Road. The collection includes biographical and professional materials, course work, book drafts, amicus briefs, photographs, handwritten notes, and correspondence throughout.
