Abstract:
Terry Uyeyama was interviewed in 1973 by John F. Barry (Class of 1950), Associate Editor of the Brown Alumni Monthly. This collection contains the transcription of that interview and the article published in the Brown Alumni Monthly based on the interview. His interview tells the story of his Air Force career, service as an F-4 fighter pilot in Vietnam starting in October 1967, his capture by North Vietnamese in March 1968 and experiences as a prisoner of war in the Hanoi Hilton prison camp in Hanoi, Vietnam for almost 5 years until January 1973.

This collection consists of the personal and professional papers of Cheryl A. Wall, Board of Governors Zora Neale Hurston Professor of English at Rutgers University and scholar of African American and African diaspora literature, the Harlem Renaissance, and Zora Neale Hurston. The collection includes correspondence, administrative materials related to her work at Rutgers University as well as Crossroads Theatre Company, conference materials, course syllabi and readings, draft writings, and research materials. Abstract:
Anna Eleanor Wallace (1886-1982) was a dancer and elocutionist from Providence, Rhode Island. She taught dance, dramatics, elocution and physical education to students of all ages in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Most of her papers consist of copies of recitation pieces, instructions for dances, and photographs. The papers also include some of her personal belongings, catalogs from schools of dance and oratory, and ephemera such as brochures and programs of her students' recitals. The material in the papers is dated between 1874 and 1982, with most dated between 1902 and 1936.

Abstract:
The Herbert E. Walter papers span from 1844-1948 and consist primarily of correspondence, and teaching materials by and relating to Herbert Eugene Walter (1867-1945), Professor of biology at Brown University. The collection includes extensive material on the study of eugenics, then a branch of biology, including correspondence, teaching materials, notes, pamphlets, published materials, and ephemera from eugenics-related professional organizations. Other significant materials include family papers from Walter’s parents, grandparents and extended family who lived primarily in Vermont. There are penmanship instruction books from the 1840s-1850s created by Walter’s father, Augustus Porter Walter (d.1872), who was a penmanship instructor in Vermont. Betsie Ann Brockway Walter described in detail her experience working in a textile mill in Lowell, Massachusetts during 1860-1861 in letters she wrote to her future husband Augustus P. Walter.
