Abstract:
The John Birch Society records include audio-visual material such as audiocassettes, films, filmstrips, phonograph records, reel-to-reel tapes, slides and videocassettes; business records, correspondence, manuscripts, membership lists, office files, publications and subject files. The records also include a great deal of material regarding the Society's campaign against the ratification of the Panama Canal Treaties during the 1970's. The records are dated from 1928 to 1990. Most of the material is dated from 1965 to 1990.

The José Rodrigues Miguéis Papers comprise the author’s correspondence, literary manuscripts, interviews, diaries, calendars, notebooks, drawings, photographs, audio recordings, awards, clippings, personal library, and personal papers. It also includes work by others that relate to Miguéis, including literary reviews and criticism, adaptations of Miguéis’s work, drawings, and miscellaneous manuscripts. The collection includes materials from the late 1800s and extends until the 1990s.

Abstract:
The William Paterson Papers, dating from 1919-2003, include photographs, plays in manuscript, an autobiography in manuscript, a pen and ink drawing, clippings, military decorations, acting awards, pamphlets, and other documents. Paterson, a Brown University graduate (Class of 1941) and a World War II veteran, was an actor by profession. He joined the Cleveland Playhouse in 1947 and worked there for the next 20 years. In 1967 he joined the American Conservatory Theatre where he remained for over 30 years. He also occasionally performed in television and film productions.

Abstract:
Vice Admiral James B. Stockdale (1923-2005) was a highly decorated naval aviator who spent nearly eight years as a prisoner of war during the Vietnam War. He was the fortieth President of the Naval War College and after his retirement from the navy he served as President of The Citadel, Charleston, S.C and was an independent candidate for Vice President of the U.S. in 1992. This collection includes correspondence, photographs, newspaper articles, speeches, and writings relating to Stockdale’s naval and academic careers.
