Abstract:
The French American Charitable Trust was founded in 1990 by the Feeney family, a family with roots in France and the United States, to address fundamental inequalities and injustices in society. Their mission was to help develop and sustain networks of community-based groups in the United States and France that educate, organize, and empower people to actively participate in developing public policies that directly affect their lives. They spent all of the money in the endowment between 1990 and 2012 and closed the foundation in 2012.

The oral history project was conducted by students in Prof. Valerie Quinney's History Research Methods class (Hist. 395A) during the spring of 1979. Ten fishermen of Galilee (R.I.) were interviewed. Research papers were written from the project interviews and the research conducted by the students.

Abstract:
Alfred Galpin (1903-1983) was a correspondent of Howard P. Lovecraft (1890-1937), from as early as 1918 to 1936. The two became fast friends and Lovecraft thought of Galpin as his adopted grandson. This collection includes letters to and from individuals interested in Galpin’s connection with Lovecraft; a pamphlet in Italian from an international Lovecraft conference in Trieste (1977); photographs and newspaper clippings in Italian, French and English; and photocopies of Lovecraft and Galpin articles in amateur journalism publications The Rainbow and The United Amateur.
