Griffith was a Landscape Architect for the Rhode Island Department of Public Works, Division of Roads and Bridges during the late 1940's and early 1950's. The collection contains typed reports submitted by Griffith, many of which pertain to the overlooks and highways of southern Rhode Island. Mss. Gr. 243 Historical note

These materials were donated to Special Collections in 1984 by M.J. Munroe, a book collector who found these materials in the garage of Griffith.
