The collection contains an index for CVN (Cape Verdean News) articles published between 1979 and 1993 created by Marlene Lopes, who was Special Collections Librarian at Rhode Island College. The index is separated by year with an alphabetical list of subjects and personal names mentioned within the articles. Each subject and personal name then has a listing of the title and dates of relevant articles. The final section of the index is “obituaries” with personal names listed alphabetically with the date of the CVN newspaper the obituary appears.
