The collection includes one letter from Irish author Frank O’Connor, and one letter from Richard Wilbur, a two-time Pulitzer Prize poet and professor at Wesleyan University. Both letters were written to Dr. James White, an English professor at Rhode Island College in the late 1950s. O’Connor appreciates White’s offer to speak at the college and asks for a delayed invitation after his time in Ireland. Wilbur expresses gratitude for White’s invitation but declines since he has taken on too many lectures and readings.
