                <p>The collection includes correspondence, meeting minutes, and proposals from the Rhode Island College Council Ethnic Studies Ad Hoc Committee, established in 1971 as the College responded to the growing ethnic and cultural diversity in the United States and its impact on Rhode Island College. The documents specifically explore how RIC can better acknowledge, support, and integrate ethnic studies into its academic programs. </p>
                    <p>The collection also contains meeting minutes, correspondence, and proposals of the Task Force on Resources and Materials, which sought to identify research, programs, and materials in ethnic studies.
