The Strategic Planning Committee was initiated to improve the success and enrollment projections of the college. This stage of the strategic plan was to be implemented between 1984 and 1988. With the work of committee members and various departments across campus, a majority of the items in the master list were implemented over several years.
This collection comprises organizational items for the Strategic Planning Committee at Rhode Island College, spanning its 1984-1988 phase of work. The collection dates between 1984 and 1985. Much of the collection includes memos organizing meetings and meeting agendas. The collection also includes the master list of strategic planning projects from 1984-1988, as well as various annotated lists marking progress and timeline changes, and progress reports from different departments. Finally, the collection includes memos from the Commissioner of Higher Education for the State of Rhode Island requesting updated enrollment projections for RIC, URI, and CCRI, as well as reports from those institutions.
