        <bioghist><head>Biographical/Historical Note</head>
            <p>Edna McCoart Graham was born in 1896 in Rumford, Rhode Island. She graduated from Rhode Island Normal School (RINS) in 1918 and taught at Academy Avenue School in Providence until 1926, when she married and could no longer teach. Graham became a substitute teacher in East Providence schools in 1936; however, she returned to teaching full-time at Potter Street School in 1948 after her husband died. She also taught at the Bliss School in East Providence. She returned to Rhode Island College of Education in 1951 and received her B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) in 1951. She had planned to receive her M.Ed. (Master of Education) from the College; however, she died in 1953 before she could finish her degree.</p>

                <p>The collection contains a photograph of the Rhode Island Normal School Class of 1918, as well as a reproduction of the image.
