SIDQ, short for Scribimus Indoci Doctique, was a literary society organized by students enrolled in Rhode Island Normal School (now Rhode Island College). The earliest edition is dated to October 1894 and the final edition was published in June of 1896. The intention of the literary society was to publish their thoughts and opinions on education, as well as other topics, to help students throughout their educational careers. The contents of the paper include short stories, poems, and editorials about teaching and events in the school. SIDQ dissolved in 1896 and the newsletter became the Normal Student, which was a school periodical in collaboration with the literary society EBB (Elizabeth Barret Browning Club).
