The Educational Policy Committee was established in 1969. The committee was charged with overseeing the content and quality of academic offerings at the University. The Committee was superseded by the College Curricular Council, a body of faculty, students, and administrators charged with regularly reviewing and evaluating undergraduate curricular offerings at Brown to ensure quality and consistency.
There are no restrictions on access, except that the collection can only be seen by prior appointment. Some materials may be stored off-site and cannot be produced on the same day on which they are requested.

The Educational Policy Committee minutes contain minutes of meetings, arranged chronologically, and materials related to academic courses that received the Committee's approval. The courses include classes offered by academic departments, Group Independent Study Projects (GISP), Special Themes and Topics (STT), and Modes of Thought (MOT). The materials are dated from 1969 to 1984.
