Magel Craig Wilder papers Wilder, Magel Craig Pembroke Center for Teaching and Research on Women. She was also the secretary for her year and kept track of students correspondence to inform the rest of the class, kept information regarding alumnae plans and job information post graduation, and created a scrapbook containing pictures and information of every student. The collection includes letters, pictures, newspaper clippings about university news, information slips filled in by the students, pages of the scrapbook and the program for the alumnae reunion of 1923. The collection also includes biology notes taken by Wilder, an offprint of one of her articles, a Limnology table of contents and correspondence and reunion materials from other students of her class dating from 1919 - 1923 English Wilder (Magel Craig) papers Biographical/Historical Note

Magel Craig Wilder was born on February 16th 1898, in Thornton, Rhode Island. Her father was Jacob Butler White Wilder and her mother Gertrude Evelyn Webb. She lived in Providence. During her life, she was the first female Biology Professor at the Women's College in Brown University. She died on September 8th 1947, in North Kingstown, at the age of 49, and was buried in Cranston
