This collection consists of an arbitration award between John Bristow and the owners of the Brigantine Amy: Henry Collins, Ebenezer Flagg, and Samuel Engs, all of Newport, Rhode Island, on August 1, 1755. Bristow, as master of the Amy, completed a round trip voyage from Newport to Great Britain and Hamburg, Germany, and was owed two thousand pounds by the owners of the vessel. This matter was brought before magistrates Evan Malbone, Walter Cranston, and Naphtali Hart, all of Newport, and it was decided that Bristow should receive the money owed to him by the owners of the Amy. A typed transcription of this document is also included.
