Roger Williams University is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc. (NEASC) through its Commission on Institutions of Higher Education. The Roger Williams University School of Law received full approval from the American Bar Association (ABA) in February, 1997 - the highest accreditation status granted. The Roger Williams School of Law is accredited by AALS - the Association of American Law Schools. The Bachelor of Architecture program is accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board. The Elementary and Secondary Teacher Education programs are approved by the Rhode Island Department of Education and the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification. The Gabelli School of Business is accredited by AACSB - the International Association for Management Education. The Paralegal Studies degree program is approved by the American Bar Association. The Construction Management program is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE). The Engineering and Environmental Engineering programs are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). The Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Architecture programs are accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board.

The New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) provides accreditation services for more than 2000 public and private institutions (pre-k through university) in the six state region and 114 American/International schools around the globe. NEASC accreditation uses self-reflection, peer review and best practices as integral components of its assessment process and monitors the follow-up endeavors leading to continuous school/program improvement. NEASC consists of six Commissions, each of which sets the standards for a particular segment of the educational community.
